There is nothing like a right number of words or right length of content in a page. It is not important to fill up the page, as doing so will not help to increase you rank or traffic to the site. However, it is important to have at least 250 useful, popular and not so popular keywords. Nobody has that kind of detail about a search engine’s algorithm. The keywords should be related to the content in the site. Also the content should be filled with these keywords, in order for the search engines to give your site a good ranking. This will also make sure that the visitor or the reader gets to read what he or she has searched for.

I think it really depends on what ACTION you want to get out of your visitors/readers. Are you writing for a landing page for sales or subscription? If so, then it is important to be concise. Do not go round and round the bush… get straight to the point in the most persuasive way possible to prompt a quick response. If you are creating a resource page where you want readers to get more information, it is important make your content a one-stop shop where your visitor will be able to find the details that he or she is looking for as well as useful links to related terms.

I don’t really know if there’s any rule about the right length or number of words for one website page. But it would probably depend on your use of keywords. If you want to have as many keywords then you should balance this density out with the total number of words you have for your content, if not you might violate search engine rules.
